Alcohol Addiction
Consuming large amounts of alcohol over time can lead to alcohol dependency or addiction (alcoholism). Alcohol withdrawal symptoms (hangovers) include anxiety, tremors, hallucinations and convulsions. Alcoholism can permanently damage the liver and brain. Consuming alcohol during pregnancy or while nursing can cause mental and physical abnormalities in the child. Studies show that children of alcoholic parents are at greater risk than other children of becoming alcoholics.
