Barbiturate Addiction
Barbiturates are depressant drugs that can become addictive. Their calming effects on the Central Nervous System lends them to be used as treatment for anxiety and sleep disorders as well as to counter the side effects of stimulant drugs. Examples of barbiturates are: mephobarbital (Mebaral) and pentobarbital sodium (Nembutal).
